The overwhelming majority of sunscreens on the market today are, well… horrific. They are filled with cancer causing ingredients. The options on the market today are “chemical” sunscreens, which penetrate the skin and may disrupt the body’s hormone system, and “mineral” sunscreens, made with zinc and titanium, often “micronized” or containing nano-particles.
The zinc oxide I use in my sunscreen is uncoated, non-nano, and not micronized. In other words, this all means that there are not nano-sized particles entering your body, which many other sunscreens certainly cannot claim. Beeswax gives this sunscreen its water resistance. Shea butter, avocado oil and coconut oil protect against the sun damage. Carrot seed oil is super rich in antioxidants, and is said to have a natural SPF of 38-40. The amount of zinc in the sunscreen makes it SPF20 and the natural SPF that are in each ingredient gives it a broad spectrum sunscreen and will provide protection from both UVA and UVB sun rays.
